just listened to this album again over 2 years after its release, and man, i have such a weird emotional attachment to it. this is a very sad album, but i look back on it really fondly.

when this album was coming out, i was about to visit my boyfriend in person for the first time EVER. the day before its release, i was sent the album early with the message "no listening til ur on the train lol".
that was a weird feeling train ride for me. a 4 hour train ride to stay overnight in another city to catch a morning flight to start what amounted to around a day long trip to stay in another country for 3 months. on the train, i listened to the album, and i was blown away. then i ignored my phone for most of the rest of the ride as i went on to worry about my first time flying, LOL.

on the plane, after i adjusted to the weirdness of being in the air for the first time, i listened to this album again. when i got to the next airport during my first layover, i listened to this album again. on the next flight, as it got dark outside and the lights went out on the plane, i listened to this album again. the next morning, on my last flight, i listened to this album again. then i put my phone away and watched the sun come up from above the clouds.

that trip was a monumental moment in my life, and this 30 minute album kept me together when i normally would've been wracked with all kinds of nerves. it came out on the same day i saw my boyfriend in person for the first time.
a good chunk of time has passed since the release of this album, and a lot is different in my life. i talk to different people, i make different art, and i've visited my boyfriend plenty more times since.

Take Care hit me so much harder after all the time thats passed. my favorite track is Paradise.

thank you for releasing this album when you did, and sending it to me a day early, that was really cool.
